Privacy policy
This English version is provided for convenience. In legal matters the German version at envyweb.ch privacy policy is authoritative.
1. Data controller

2. General principles
Protecting your data matters to me. I process personal data only in so far as this is necessary to operate this website and handle your enquiries — in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (DSG) and the Data Protection Ordinance (DSV).
Where visitors from the EU are concerned, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) may also apply. In that case the principles and rights set out below apply accordingly.
3. Server log files
When you visit this website, the hosting provider automatically records information transmitted by your browser:
- page accessed, date and time of access
- browser type and version, operating system
- referrer URL and volume of data transferred
- IP address
This processing is based on the overriding interest in the secure and error-free operation of the website (Art. 31 para. 1 DSG). The hosting provider deletes the log data as soon as it is no longer required for security and error analysis.
4. Contact form and email
If you write to me via the form or by email, I process the data you provide (name, company, email address, phone number, message) in order to answer your enquiry and prepare a quote.
The basis for this is the initiation or performance of a contract as well as your consent given by submitting the form. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for that purpose — subject to statutory retention periods (in particular Art. 958f of the Swiss Code of Obligations, ten years for business records).
Delivery via a form service: The contact form is delivered through Formspree (Formspree Inc., USA). The data you enter is transmitted to its servers and forwarded from there to me by email. Formspree acts as a processor within the meaning of Art. 9 DSG. For certified companies, the USA offers a level of data protection recognised as adequate by the Swiss Federal Council (Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework). If you would rather avoid this, write to me directly by email or call instead — both are listed on the home page.
5. Cookies and audience measurement
This website sets no cookies for analytics or marketing purposes. There is no tracking, no user profiling and no social media plugins are loaded.
6. Fonts and external content
This website loads no fonts, scripts, maps or videos from external servers. All fonts are stored locally on this website's own server. Visiting the page therefore establishes no connection to Google, to a content delivery network or to a social network, and your IP address is not passed to any third party.
The only exception is when you submit the contact form (see section 4) or click an outgoing link.
7. Hosting
This website is hosted via GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. The provider processes the data listed under point 3 on my behalf as a processor within the meaning of Art. 9 DSG. As the server location may lie outside Switzerland and the EEA, the disclosure relies on a recognised adequate level of data protection for certified companies (Swiss–U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or on standard contractual clauses.
8. Embedded previews
The “Work” section embeds previews of example websites hosted on the same server. No data is transmitted to third parties in the process. The companies, addresses and prices shown there are entirely fictional.
9. Data security
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can tell a connection is encrypted because the address bar begins with “https://”. In addition, appropriate technical and organisational measures are taken to protect your data against unauthorised access.
10. Your rights
You have the right at any time to:
- information about the data processed about you (Art. 25 DSG)
- correction of inaccurate data (Art. 32 DSG)
- deletion or destruction of your data
- release or transfer of your data (Art. 28 DSG)
- object to processing
- withdraw consent with effect for the future
An informal email is sufficient. Proof of identity may be requested. You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC): www.edoeb.admin.ch
11. Changes
This privacy policy may be amended to reflect changes in the law or in the website's functionality. The version published on this page applies in each case.
